Hi everyone! Very interesting discussion here. My name is Vasile Baghiu and I am from Romania. Actually, we have met each other on the EP site and all of us have already noticed what kind of poetry each of us writes. I am very happy to be part of this creative effervescence and thank you for accepting me you all. As you have seen, my English is not my native tongue, but I dream that sometime I will be able to write in English as natural as I do this in Romanian… Okey, now back to the subject. Just for few thoughts… Well, I have usually written poems so far by catching any possible free moment to make a vague note on a paper-sheet. A vague idea always sounds in my mind like a song without words. For this I always try to at least make clear the music. To do this means that I have to sing with low voice the song or something which seems to be that song. Then I try to say something as if I speak to someone, a simple sentence, simple and banal. This is an important beginning. After writing down this sentence, it must come to my mind other lines, as well. I say it must, but not always it happens like that, you know... Anyway, from this point my work begins to be easier, but still it is far from finish, as it requires to be revised and so on. Therefore, the first line is very important for me. Neither an idea, nor a subject, but a line, a sentence. I never look for an idea, I always look for a suitable why of saying something clear and ambiguous at the same time. Sometimes, when I have noting in my mind, I riffle books, which I chose almost by chance. Something must rise up from pages and this also might be a challenging start for a poem. The rest depends only on me. At this point nobody can help you. At least this happens with me… But for the moment this is enough I think.
